Coaching on Revview

How to apply, find videos, make great Revviews and get paid.

For clientsFor coaches

Applying to coach

Applying takes about 15 minutes. Start from the For Coaches page.

  1. 1Create your account: name, email and password, and confirm you are 18 or older.
  2. 2Build your profile: add a profile photo, a short bio, the languages you coach in and your specialties (up to 10).
  3. 3Watch the intro video: a short walkthrough of how Revview works and what we expect from coaches.
  4. 4Do a practice Revview: use the Revview tools on a sample video, so we can see how you coach.

We personally review every application and reply within 1 to 3 business days. You will get an email as soon as you are approved.

If you stop partway through, just log back in and you will pick up where you left off.

Your profile

Clients choose a coach from their public profile, so it is worth making yours great. Edit it anytime from the Profile tab on your dashboard.

  • A clear, friendly photo of your face.
  • A bio that says who you help and how you coach.
  • Every language you can coach in.
  • Specialties that match what you are best at. If one is missing from the list, you can type your own.
  • Your country. This decides how you get paid (see Getting paid below).

Your profile also shows your star rating and recent client reviews.

Availability

There are no set hours and no minimums. Turn your availability on or off anytime from your dashboard.

  • On: clients see you as available and can send you videos directly.
  • Off: your profile stays visible, but clients can't submit to you. Use this when you are busy or away.
Only accept work you can deliver on time. Turning availability off is always better than missing a deadline.

Direct submissions

When a client picks you from the coach directory, their video appears in the Submissions tab on your dashboard, and you get an email.

  • You have 36 hours from when the client submits to send your Revview.
  • Need more information? Use the Message button on the submission to ask the client a question.
  • Can't Revview it? Decline it and pick a reason: the video quality is too poor, it is outside your expertise, it is too short or incomplete, there is no visible movement, or the content is inappropriate. The client gets their credits back.
  • If 36 hours pass without a Revview, the video moves to the queue for another coach, and it counts as a missed window (see Deadlines & ratings).

The queue

The queue holds videos from clients who want the next available coach. Open it from the Queue card on your dashboard. Videos are listed oldest first.

  1. 1Scan the list. Each card shows the client's focus area, their notes and how long the video has been waiting. On a computer, hover over a card to see a short clip.
  2. 2Click Preview to watch the full video. While you preview, the video is held for you for 5 minutes, so no one else can take it.
  3. 3Claim it to go straight to the Revview page. Once claimed, you have 4 hours to send your Revview.
  4. 4Or return it to the queue with a reason, if it is not a good fit. You won't see that video again.
  • You can hold one queue video at a time. Super Coaches can hold up to four.
  • A Revviewed badge on a card means you have coached this client before.

Making a Revview

The Revview page shows the client's video, their notes, and your tools.

  1. 1Play the video and pause whenever you need to examine a movement. The frame buttons move one frame at a time, so you can stop on the exact moment.
  2. 2Click on the video to drop a marker at that moment and spot. Use the Marker or Circle tool to point at exactly what you mean.
  3. 3Choose how to give your feedback: Text, Audio, Video, File or Walkthrough. You can add several notes to the same spot.
  4. 4When you have covered everything, click Send Revview. The client gets an email straight away.

The feedback types

  • Text: a written note pinned to that moment.
  • Audio: a voice note.
  • Video: record yourself on camera, demonstrating or explaining.
  • File: attach an image, PDF or video (up to 200 MB), such as a drill or a program. You can drag the file straight in.
  • Walkthrough: record yourself talking while you play, pause and move through the client's video, with your mouse visible on screen.

There is no required mix. Use whatever gets your point across best.

If you need to stop

You can cancel a Revview you have started and choose a reason. The video goes back to the queue for another coach. If the content is offensive, inappropriate or fake, choose that reason: the video is pulled from the queue and our team is alerted.

Deadlines, ratings & Super Coach

Your star rating

After each Revview, the client gives it a star rating. Your star rating is the average of all of them, minus any deductions for missed deadlines.

Deadlines

  • Queue videos: deliver within 4 hours of claiming.
  • Direct submissions: deliver within 36 hours of the client submitting. The sooner the better to get repeat clients.
  • Fast bonus: deliver a direct submission within 12 hours and that Revview gets an extra half star (up to 5).

Missed deadlines

  • Each missed deadline takes one star off your rating.
  • A queue video not delivered within 4 hours goes back to the queue, and any notes you made on it are deleted.
  • A direct submission not delivered within 36 hours moves to the queue for another coach.
  • Go 14 days without missing a deadline and one lost star comes back.
  • After 5 missed deadlines, your account is paused.
  • If your rating drops below 3.0, we reach out and give you time to bounce back before anything changes.

Super Coach

Coaches with consistently top ratings become a Super Coach. You get a Super Coach badge on your profile, so clients can see you are one of our top coaches.

Getting paid

  • You earn $5.60 USD for each short Revview (videos up to 4 min 59 sec).
  • Payouts go out on the last Friday of every month. There is no minimum.
  • See your total earned and pending payout in the Earnings tab on your dashboard.

Setting up payouts

  • Most countries: connect your bank account through Stripe from the Earnings tab. It takes a few minutes, and Stripe may ask you to confirm your identity.
  • Countries Stripe doesn't cover: you're paid through PayPal instead. You need your own PayPal account (free, and a personal account is fine). Add the exact email you log in to PayPal with in the Profile tab. The Profile tab tells you which applies once you choose your country.
  • Paid through PayPal? Earnings are sent in US dollars. If there's no PayPal account on your email, the payment waits unclaimed for 30 days and then comes back to us, so double check it. We'll email you if it's waiting, and anything that comes back is sent again with the next monthly payout once your email is fixed. PayPal may charge you to convert currency or withdraw to your bank.
If a client files a complaint and our team agrees the Revview fell short, the client is refunded and the payout for that Revview is removed. If we side with you, nothing changes.

Messages

Use the Message button on a direct submission to ask the client a question before you start. All your conversations are in the Messages tab on your dashboard, with a badge when something is unread.

Your account

  • Forgot your password: on the Log in page, click Forgot your password?
  • Equipment: any computer with a webcam and microphone works. A computer is best for making Revviews.
  • Want feedback on your own training? Your coach account can also submit videos as a client. Browse coaches.
